Cosmetic Porcelain Crowns Restore Your Smile

Dr. Jay Ajmo provides cosmetic porcelain dental crowns at his Palm Beach Gardens office to restore teeth compromised by damage or decay, or to restore dental implants. PGA Dentistry frequently uses metal-free EMax® & Empress® crowns that produce the most natural-looking results possible. Older crowns often take on a yellowish tint and may even include a visible metal collar around the gum line. The color and translucency of our cosmetic dental crowns are carefully matched to give your smile a bright, healthy glow.

Understanding the Procedure

At PGA Dentistry, we hold the quality of our care to the highest standard. Your first appointment with us will involve a comprehensive consultation, digital photographs, digital x-rays and a comprehensive examination with Dr. Ajmo. A customized treatment plan based on your needs and personal requests will be created just for you. If necessary, a mild sedative may be prescribed to keep you relaxed and comfortable.

We will first prepare your teeth, removing any decayed portions, shaping them with fine detail under magnification. Next, we will take a computerized digital model that gives us incredible attention to detail. Then we fit you with provisional temporary crowns and give you a chance to wear them for a few days. This interim period will allow you to take note of how the temporary crowns look, how they affect your bite and ability to chew comfortably.

Next, we will send molds, photographs, X-rays, and detailed instructions to our premium quality ceramics laboratory, where your permanent metal free cosmetic porcelain crowns will be fabricated to the highest standards. When your new porcelain crowns are complete, you will return to our office for your second visit. At this point, the doctor will secure your crown to your tooth using a high-quality dental cement. Our doctors work hard to ensure that each crown placed is fitted properly so that is works and feels just like a natural tooth. Once your new crown is in place and properly fitted, you will be able to show off your new smile to the world.

Durable Stability

When selecting tooth repair options, patients are often concerned with the ability of the replacement product to let them bite and chew normally. Additionally, no one wants to invest in a product that will need to be replaced again within a short period because it doesn't last. Porcelain crowns are strong, long-lasting and can help protect damaged teeth.

Easy Maintenance

Today's tooth repair options need to be easy for patients to clean and care for. Porcelain crowns are a great way for patients to get great results with no extra maintenance. And because of the stain resistant quality of porcelain, your beautiful crowns can restore the bright white smile that you thought you had lost forever. Moreover, with daily brushing, flossing and regular dental visits, your porcelain crowns can last for years. But remember just because the tooth is crowned with strong and durable porcelain, does not mean the tooth is protected from decay or gum disease. You will still need to follow good oral hygiene practices, especially in the area where the gum meets the bottom of the crown. Daily use of antibacterial mouth rinse is also highly recommended.
