dental implants, bone graft, west palm beach denti - What If...

We mentioned very briefly back in July that not every patient is a candidate for dental implants. And it’s true, for some patients, conditions may not be just right. But that doesn’t mean you have to give up hope. Bone grafting is just one way Dr. Ajmo can help patients who want dental implants but aren’t already candidates.

What Is Bone Grafting and Why Is It Used?

Bone grafting is used in cases where a patient just doesn’t have enough bone to support implants. Bone grafting is what changes that. By transferring bone from another part of your body to your jaw, it’s possible to make areas that were once too weak for dental implants strong enough to support treatment.

In some cases, a bone graft may involve a sinus lift. This process involves adding bone to the upper jaw, near your molars. Moreover, if a sinus lift is needed, it can often be finished during the same procedure as your implant placement procedure.

Because every patient is different, though, the only way to know how bone grafting can help you is by scheduling a consultation visit with Dr. Ajmo. Our Palm Beach Gardens office serves patients from Palm Beach, JunoBeach, Tequesta, West Palm Beach, and Stuart.
