Palm Beach Implant Attached Dentures: Comfortably Eat, Speak And Smile As If You Had Real Teeth

Implant-supported Dentures Palm Beach Gardens

Many patients with lower dentures suffer from slipping and looseness. This makes eating and speaking quite an ordeal, leading to embarrassment and frustration in everyday life. Removable dentures also cause jawbone resorption, resulting in a loss of volume and fullness to the lips, mouth and face. Fact is, the lower portion of the face ages the fastest, long before the areas around the eyes and forehead. Tooth loss and denture wear lead to a gradual, collapsing of the bite, resulting in a decrease in vertical dimention, or height between the nose and chin. The lips flatten and droop down in the corners while the lower portion of the face caves in, increasing one’s perceived age by decades.

Dental implants are securely anchored to the jawbone, just like natural teeth. They stimulate jawbone support and minimize a patient's jawbone resorption and potential for osteoporosis of the jaws. Once secured, implant restorations will not move. They require no suction, clasps, relines, or messy adhesives like traditional full denture plates. Patients can eat, chewy, crunchy or hard foods that may not have been part of their diet as regular denture wearers. Speech is usually restored to normal, so the embarrassment and frustration of wearing removable dentures is gone. With implant dentistry, Dr. Ajmo can restore facial volume, lip fullness and vertical height between the nose and chin, achieving a more youthful appearance to your mouth and your whole face. You will also like the fact that dental implants usually last a lifetime when cared for properly.

Implant Stabilized Denture

Toothless jaw with dental implant abutmentsThe implants are positioned just below the gum tissue and given time to fuse with the bone. Temporary abutments may be placed on the implants until the healing phase is complete. Your existing denture may be modified so that it can be worn without disturbing the implants during the healing process.

Toothless jaw with permanent abutmentsAfter healing, ball-top posts are attached to the implants. Your old denture may be modified to hold clips that snap over the ball-tops, or a new denture with clips will be made.

Jaw complete with implant-supported denturesThe denture is snapped into place, where it is retained by the implants and supported by the soft tissue. You simply snap the denture out each night for cleaning.
